Emma Cairo, a Scandinavian singer/songwriter, was born with music in her genes. Her father, a popular jazz musician in Denmark, blessed Cairo with a great ear, and a versatile, sultry voice.
Before Emma moved to Los Angeles, she sharpened her skills writing, singing, and performing in the Danish capital Copenhagen where she worked in a music performance restaurant. When she went to Los Angeles, she fell in love with the city and it's people, and the rest is history.
Emma's music is melodic & humorous pop/rock with Nordic folk/pop undertones. She is proud of and inspired both by her upbringing in the dark north with roots in Odin's city, Odense, but also by her current life in sunny California (and all the stereotypes that entails). Emma's debut album "In East and West" was released in March 2017, and the first single was her epic ode to the Los Angeles, "L.A." Live, Emma Cairo delivers a passionate and charismatic performance.
Emma's resumé is as diverse and impressive as her talent. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Emma has performed at such popular Hollywood venues as the Viper Room, the Hotel Café, the Knitting Factory, the Cat Club, The Rainbow, Boardner's, State Social House, the Dresden, Bar Lubitsh, and Genghis Cohen, among others. Emma has guested the Playboy radio show, where her single "I'm a Player too" was played, and she guested Dash radio's Mayhem & Token Show in L.A. where her single "L.A." was played, as well as L.A.'s local KPFK FM 90.7 where "In It for the Money" as well as "L.A." were played. The song "In It for the Money" from her 2017 album "In East & West" is the theme song for the popular crypto-youtuber In It for the Money.
In 2015, Emma released a song in her native tongue Danish called "Medina". The song is about the refugee crisis in Europe. She was encouraging more tolerance regarding immigration after having had a very positive experience regarding her own immigration in the US. She was quoted in the Danish tabloid newspaper Ekstra Bladet, and received a massive amount of harassment online. She wrote an article about the experience. Read the English version here. The song "Medina" is a favorite among Emma's following at her live performances in the US.
Emma has also toured the world with different bands; In 2010 she had a four month residency at the legendary Club Xiu, the most popular club in China, as well as a four month residency in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
